Description
88 image focus stack of a Megachile willughbiella male - nicknamed mittens because of their fluffy front pair of legs - sleeping on sweet pea flowers in the garden. I've spent every evening for almost 3 weeks this summer checking the sweet pea flowers since i've spotted the first male in one of the bee hotels situated near said flowers. I'm lucky enough to have over 60 species of bee/wasp/bumblebees in the garden over the summer months so I always keep an eye out for any interesting situations they might get themselves into. I know from previous years that some leafcutter bee males tend to sleep among the sweet peas occasionally.
