Description
At the end of its life, a puffball fungus (Basidiomycota) produces a spherical fruiting body with an opening at the top. When it is mature, any impact causes it to release a cloud of thousands of spores which are carried away on the air currents to germinate elsewhere. Two flash guns were triggered by the shutter release to capture the spores in the air. Timing was crucial and the results totally random!
