This photograph was taken in Marseille during the Pride parade. As the scene unfolded in front of me, the young woman raised above the crowd, waving her flag, immediately reminded me of Eugène Delacroix’s painting Liberty Leading the People. For a brief moment, the street seemed to carry that same spirit of freedom, courage and collective energy. I reacted instinctively and pressed the shutter.
