Disko Island, Greenland
Canon EOS R + Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8 L II USM + Canon Mount Adaptor EF - EOS R
Iris and Árna make the first ascent of a frozen waterfall on the remote coastline of Disko Island, Greenland. Beginning where the frozen ocean meets the basalt cliffs, their route is an ephemeral wall of frozen water and they are the first people to ever attempt to climb here. The island's dramatic basalt cliffs were formed millions of years ago as successive lava flows cooled and solidified, creating the distinctive layered columns and textured faces that define Disko's coastline and contrast the ice that will remain only seasonally.
