Self Portrait
The Cotswolds, UK
Nikon Df, 35mm 1.8 lens (multiple-exposure)
I wanted to make a portrait that explored the illusion of a fixed self. Through meditation I've occasionally experienced identity as something more fluid: a shifting collection of thoughts, habits and desires, rather than a single, permanent "me". By repeating my own body across the landscape near my home, I hoped to visualise that moment of quiet dissolution. This image was created using multiple exposure layering.
