The rolling hills of the South Downs are a stunning landscape in Southern England. This particular location stood out due to the beautiful patterns created by the tramlines, and new growth of a Winter crop. The backdrop of the clump of trees on the horizon adds a nice touch and subject to this minimalist composition. I had to compose and then crop the image from the right to cut out a pylon tower and to avoid a messy foreground along the field boundary at the bottom. The beautiful sidelight gives a real sense of depth and form due to the shadows and highlights on the scene.
