Description
The late afternoon brought some unexpected rain and heavy low cloud. As we headed back to camp a narrow band of clear sky near the horizon began to light up and I could see this incredible sun begin to descend towards the gap, just as sunset was approaching. As we were driving along I spotted a lone acacia tree right on the horizon, so got our driver to stop exactly where it would line up with the sun. I quickly got my camera ready and captured this image, just the most incredible sight. This for me summed up the stark beauty and expansive views of this amazing place and reminded me of the opening scene from the film "The Circle of Life", which I thought gave my image a fitting title.
