Halo Nightclub, Bournemouth, UK
Nikon D750 with a Tokina atx-i 11-16mm f/2.8 lens at 13mm, f/2.8, 1/30 sec, ISO 500, handheld.
Housed inside the former St Andrew's United Reform Church on Exeter Road, Bournemouth, Halo closed its doors for the last time in March 2024, one more name lost to the cost of living crisis and the squeeze on Britain's night life. For eleven years this Grade II listed church hosted some of the biggest names in dance music beneath its Gothic arches. Shot from the balcony as the crowd threw their hands up for Bou, mid-set on the summer 2023 wave of "Baddadan," a scene that within months would no longer be possible. Shot on a Nikon D750 with a Tokina atx lens at 13mm. It’s a crop sensor lens on a full frame body, producing a heavy distortion and dramatic vignette, bleeding in at the edges, pushing the equipment to its absolute limits for a truly special moment.
