Description
With England experiencing its driest July on record, supporters create their own rain at a Manchester fan zone as beer is thrown into the air during England’s 2026 World Cup clash with Norway. Thousands had gathered across the city to watch the match on screens as England’s hopes of reaching the latter stages of the tournament rested on victory in Miami. The moment captures the exuberance and release of a crowd united by the fortunes of its national team. The optimism would ultimately prove short-lived with England’s World Cup campaign ending in the next game with defeat to Argentina. Taken on assignment for the Manchester Evening News.
