Birdlife
Hermaness, Shetland Islands
Canon 5D mark 4 + Canon 100-400 mk2
From 100 meters above, the crashing waves of the Atlantic became a canvas. Its turquoise water, crashing white surf, jagged weathered rocks, and a very fleeting choreography of Northern Gannets. I waited for the precise moment when the birds, waves and sea stack aligned, turning a restless seascape into something abstract. I leant over the cliff edge, firing off a burst of frames, as hundreds of birds swirled beneath me, struggling to touch down on the gannetry in gusts of over 60mph.
