Description

I love big hair and one of my projects is promoting naturally big afro styles in my photos. This model is actually an albino with a naturally blonde afro and actively raises the profile for ethnic minorities to be represented in fashion, and she herself has managed to break through into modelling with her unique look. When I was initially seeking models for my big hair shoots, I immediately loved her blonde afro and so she came and sat for me at my home studio. I had some colourful fashion earrings to be featured and I also wanted her hair to be significant in the photo. So this "Fashion Face" image is the result of wanting to promote afro hairstyles as fashionable ( "ProFro" in short ! ). I also shot this in profile as it made the most of the fashion earring design to see it form the side rather than front on. It was a lovely shoot, the model was lovely and it's one of my favourite head and shoulders fashion photos. ISO 250, Aperture F/2.8, Shutter 1/80s
