Roundhouse, London
Nikon D750 and 14-24mm f/2.8
I took this photo during Beartooth's show at the the Roundhouse in February, unfortunately, although I didn’t realise it at the time, one of my last live gigs before lockdown. After three songs in the photo pit, I took to the crowd with my long since battered D750 and the widest lens I own, a 14-24mm f/2.8. My aim was to capture a shot that encapsulated the raw energy of the night. While I love artist focused images, often my favourite shots come from being in the middle of the action (and the crowd!). With crowd surfers clambering to get to the front, I waited for a moment when a couple were lifted past me, raised my camera as high as I could, and captured this image. The buzz of live music is something I’m currently missing like mad, and I really hope it’s not long until we can experience nights like this one again.
