Description

Samsung have approached the marketing agency I was working for and asked me to help them develop a new brand store on "Ebay". I was given a task to come up with a style, that fits the "Samsung" brand guidelines as well as presents company in a contemporary way. After doing some research into various styles and color options I presented my suggested approach to their brand manager and with a few tweaks and revisions they were happy. I then proceeded to shoot and retouch the agreed images and again, after a few tweaks they were really happy with the outcome. The last step for me was to work with a web developer in order to adapt these images for the "Ebay" platform requirements. This particular image was shot in my Christchurch studio using the above listed equipment, as well as an Elinchrome studio lighting kit. I wanted to create a bright and colorful aesthetic without using extensive manipulation. Therefore it was shot with rather flat lighting and colored paper, as well as applied diffusion to create soft shadows and smooth gradients in the highlights. The colors were chosen based on both "Samsung's" brand guidelines as well inspired by "Ebay's" "Fill your cart with color" campaign.
