What is the British Photography Awards?
We are an innovative hybrid of a regional photography prize and UK charity fundraiser. We accept only photos taken in the UK and aim to do a great deal to help the world every year.

Can I enter from outside the UK?
Yes. The awards are designed to showcase any photographs taken in the UK. We have had many submissions from abroad including from charity workers, tourists and even people on business trips!
Does entering the competition transfer the rights to my image to anyone?
No. We champion the rights of photographers and maintain their rights over their own work. We are granted permission to feature and reproduce your images in our social media and for publicity regarding the Awards. No merchandising will be undertaken without first seeking permission from all parties.
Can I seek special assistance and help with my entries?

Are there any age restrictions to the competition?
No. We accept work from all ages and stages, and from all levels of photographers. Our aim is to build a picture of the beauty of great Britain in all its diverse and various details.
How do I find out the region I need to enter my photos in?
Your photos must be entered into the regional competition in which they were taken. For full list of how we have classified our regions, and to find out which county is where, please click on the REGIONS tab at the bottom of every page.
Do I have to enter 10 photos each time I enter?
No. The submission will still be accepted by our system with as little as 1 image attached.
How do I choose which charity I am going to support?
Click HERE to be taken to our charities page, where you will find a list of all the charities we have partnered with currently. Information is available about each one to help you make an informed decision.
When will I get informed about my progress in the competition?
After getting a confirmation email that your entry has been received to the address you provided. In the event that your photography has won a regional or national victory we shall be in contact with you to the same address after the first and final round of judging has been completed respectively.Please ensure that emails from us do not end up in your Junk folder.
What happens to the money that stays with the British Photography Awards?
Half of the entry fee stays with us and goes towards funding our prizes system, our storage and hosting cots, our security and card payment facilities. Some of the money may go towards funding a part of the end of year gallery show depending on sponsorship details closer to the time. No member of The Photography Awards Limited is taking a salary from the venture. We are all volunteering our time to the project. Our aim is simply to be self sustaining and help the world.
Is there anywhere where I can enter my travel photos?
We are currently launching six international awards to go alongside our keystone project of the BPA. We are aiming to have USA, Canada, Australia, India sister sites live by next year. Follow us on social media to be kept updated as we grow.
How can I see how much money people have given to which charity?
At the year's end we will make all our figures public and present the totals of charity funds raised.
Will my personal information be kept safe?
We pride ourselves on our security and secure web build. All the data taken by entrants will be kept in accordance with the Data Protection Act and any and all breaches will be reported to those parties that are relevant at the soonest possible time.
Can I recommend charities to be featured on the British Photography Awards website?
Yes. We always love hearing from our community, this includes recommendations for featuring charities. If you have any suggestions do get in contact with us at email@example.com at any time should you like to recommend us a new charity to approach.
Can I view/edit my entries after I have made them?
No. Once a submission is made, it is final. To edit your captions please email the amended one to firstname.lastname@example.org along with your entry number.
