If you like what we do, want to help UK photographers get discovered and help local charities, then you should consider becoming a British Photography Awards Ambassador. We are trying to grow organically, from grass roots and want to avoid shovelling marketing money into the Googles and Facebooks of the world as much as possible. As such, we are looking for keen photographers (amateur and professional), teachers, lecturers, writers, conservationists, and charity workers to fly the flag. It is easy to apply, simply fill in the form at the bottom of this page and tell us about your work and why you would want the opportunity.
The scheme is open to all who believe in using the power of photography to help the world, and we are building our community around that premise. As we grow, there will be lots of opportunities for the sharing of work and ideas with like minded people.
It is, and always will be completely free, and has a variety of benefits for you, and your local community:
Show your colours. As well as becoming an official ambassador to the awards, you will be sent a high resolution BPA Ambassadorial logo for your own personal use. You can really do as much or as little as you like with it, but people have already put it on their websites, email signatures - even on a surfboard! The more visibility we have together, the more our charities will benefit.
- Send in content. We like our ambassadors to send in their photographs, blogs, and reviews. If you want to send us some work, we will try and help the world see it. Of course, there is no pressure to do this if you don't want to. Alternatively, you can send in experiments, articles or just about anything you like...
Recommend us your favourite charity. As an ambassador, you will have the right to get in contact with our charity resource team and recommend us charities to fundraise for next year's awards. We welcome talking to all UK-Charities; large or small.
Get in the Ambassador's Directory. We have a special place for our ambassadors online. Primarily aimed at helping with your SEO and helping encourage collaboration, this will include links to your own website and a summary of your discipline.
Get given an official community page. If you would like to, our team will start you a photo community page on Facebook, officially linked to the British Photography Awards that you can admin, with our blessing, and manage your local photographic community in whatever category or region interests you. You can invite your friends, family or whoever you like! We want to support and stimulate local photo groups and communities to help photography as a whole in the UK.
Make a friend. Always have access to a specific member of our volunteer staff here at the BPA so you can reach out to us at any time with questions, queries or requests. Having someone on the inside is really useful sometimes, especially for discussing side projects, charity fundraising, pop up galleries and school visits etc. Our team have a good variety of experience and can offer a lot of free, impartial advice.
